There are only very few areas in medicine where anatomic as well as functional imaging are as crucial as in cardiology – this is mainly due to the constant movement of the targeted organ! From May 24 - 27, 2008, the "9th European Congress of Trauma and Emergency Surgery - First ESTES Congress" will take place in Budapest, Hungary.
This will be the first congress after the merger in May 2007 of two of Europe's largest trauma societies - ETS (European Trauma Society) and EATES (European Association for Trauma and Emergency Surgery) into ESTES - the European Society for Trauma and Emergency Surgery. With more than 5000 members and the support of several national trauma societies, ESTES is capable of significantly influencing the development and improvement of standards of trauma and emergency surgery in Europe.
Without doubt, Budapest 2008 will be a landmark event for the scientific community in Europe and beyond - which is why, on behalf of Congress President Peter Fröhlich and Congress Secretary Vilmos Vecsei, I invite you and your members to participate actively in this meeting.
