Overview
The ESDR Academy for Future Leaders in Dermatology has been held annually since 2011 and brings together 25 of the most promising young skin scientists with established leaders in the field for a 2.5 day event. Mixing scientific exchange, career advice and mentoring, the Academy provides an essential platform for young, motivated scientists to move forward in their careers.
Objectives
The goal of this initiative is to encourage young gifted dermatologists to further pursue their academic careers through guidance and mentoring of established scientists in the field. Besides scientific sessions, there is a strong emphasis on encouraging young people to network and to exchange ideas. The Academy is an excellent opportunity for sponsoring companies to establish strong professional relationships with the next generation of leaders in dermatology.
Applications are reviewed on scientific merit by the ESDR Scientific Program Committee.
General Information
The program is open to those residing in Europe or those with a European passport currently studying/working outside Europe who have the intention to relocate to Europe within 6 months of the end of the Academy Participants must be 40 years old or under by 1 November 2017.
Exceptions may be made for career breaks, maternity/paternity leave etc ESDR covers accommodation costs for all participants and travel costs for ESDR members. If you are not a member you may apply prior to the Academy Participants must committ to staying for the entire duration of the Academy and should travel alone All participants give oral presentations of their work and be expected to attend mentoring events Past participants are not eligble for consideration,

There will be an extra, free day of lectures on 4 October, which is courtesy of the Hungarian Association of Rheumatologists (HAR) as they are celebrating their 90th birthday in 2018.

EULAR Bursaries
EULAR grants 20 bursaries to young rheumatologists (below the age of 40) who are preparing and presenting their own clinical case during the postgraduate course.
Applications for bursaries must include:
• Curriculum vitae with date of birth
• List of publications
Please note that you must be registered for the course in order to apply for a bursary. Once a bursary is granted, a reimbursement will be made.

To present, discuss and debate both the latest basic and clinical findings as well as the current challenges involving bone and kidney, join us this coming Fall in Copenhagen. The Bone and Kidney’s basic science sessions will be grouped according to there themes: Transporters (structure-function interactions, proteins); Receptors and cellular mechanism of regulation; and Phosphatonins.
The clinical sessions will focus on Genetic diseases of bone and kidney; Osteoporosis and renal osteodystrophy; and the Relationship between bone/mineral metabolism disturbances and cardiovascular disease in CKD and management.
Finally, the special translational sessions will cover: Urinary infection & nephrolithiasis; Molecular aspects of mineral metabolism diseases; and Pediatric renal osteodystrophy: unique challenges in the growing skeleton.
