The symposium is organized for the following disciplines:
Physical medicine and rehabilitation, Plastic- and Hand Surgery, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy and for other health care professionals interested in the topic of the hand;
The lecturers are well known specialists in the field of the hand from the Hand Therapy Group, Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, the Netherlands, other European Universities and from Universities in Turkey;
- The official language of the symposium is English;

Abstracts
During the symposium, sessions will be organized where personal opinions, research and experiences on the cause and treatment of hand related problems/ diseases can be presented and discussed. The deadline for submission of abstracts for oral presentations and posters is 15 September 2005. Abstracts will be accepted by e-mail (to vitalmed@tiscali.be) as attachment in MS word-format, not exceeding half an A4 page, written in 11 points Arial font including sections such as title, authors, introduction, materials and methods, results, conclusions and relevance. Those presenting an abstract or poster are required to register.
Venue
Bodrum is a well-known holiday resort at the sunny Southwest coast of Turkey. Low white buildings, a bright blue sea and green mountains are typical for the town of Bodrum, see www.bodrum-info.org. The symposium will take place in the ***** Yasmin Bodrum (Ultra all inclusive Resort * Convention * Thalasso) situated in one of the beautiful bays (Kadikalesi) on the Bodrum Peninsula.
Registration Fee
On or before 1st August 2005: Euro 400 and Euro 350 (assistants)
After 1st August 2005: Euro 450 and Euro 400 (assistants)

Social Events
The fee includes a welcome cocktail and dinner and a one-day sailing trip. There is an option for spouses to join the boat trip at € 40 per person. A Turkish night at an authentic Turkish restaurant will be organised for participants and spouses allowing enjoyment of the rich Turkish cuisine and live music. Places can be reserved on the registration form at € 50 per person, incl. transfer. A further social program will communicated to you in the detailed program.
How to get to Bodrum?
The course venue is about 40 kilometres from the international airport Milas/Bodrum. There are daily flights of Turkish Airlines (THY) from Istanbul to Bodrum, moreover there are direct charter flights from most European airports. Other nearby airports are Izmir and Dalaman. Transfers to and from Bodrum airport can be arranged at Euro 80 per person, prices for other airports on request.
Climate
October in Bodrum is typically pleasant with temperatures from an average daytime high of 22 degrees Celsius to an overnight low of 14 degrees Celsius. Generally, there is a 95% probability of sun and 5% probability of rain. |
