For 18 years Budapest Nephrology School is organized by the Hungarian Kidney Foundation at the Semmelweis University, under the auspices of ISN and ERA-EDTA. The 19 Budapest Nephrology School will be organized in conjunction with the 10th International Symposium on Wine and Health and on the occasion of the 7th World Kidney Day.
During this one-week program, our distinguished international speakers provide updates on nephrology, hypertension, dialysis and transplantation. The CME refresher course covers the field from molecule to bedside, from the most recent scientific advances to the current clinical approaches. Participants will also enjoy close interaction with the faculty, meet the professors, and small group workshops. They are encouraged to present posters, raise questions and consult colleagues on problematic cases. They are also invited to visit our quality dialysis and research units. Participants will get certification upon the successful exam. |

W1 Giving evidence to the Tribunal - science or art?
This is an interactive skills workshop on giving evidence. The three presenters will give advice on the evidence required by the tribunal panel focussing on the legal criteria (led by Judge), presenting risk information and appropriate treatment.
Delegates will leave with a clearer understanding of how to be a competent medical witness at a mental health tribunal.
Places for this workshop are very limited – book early if you wish to attend
S7 Mental Health Informatics: health records, apps and priorities for the future
The first part of the session will cover the implementation of e-health projects such as Care.Data and its implications for research, service development and confidentiality.
The second part of the session will cover Mental Health apps and their use in clinical settings and by patients.
The third part of the session will cover recent developments in mental health informatics and priorities for the future.
W6 Cardiac assessment and QTc monitoring in mental health patients, principles and competencies
This workshop aims to look at management of cardiac risk in psychiatric patients. It will focus on identifying risk factors and relevant investigations including interpretation of the QT measurements on the ECG.
Places for this workshop are very limited - book early if you wish to attend.
S41 Terrorism in the 21st Century: a new world without boundaries
The learning objectives of this session are:
- To learn about the varied factors which may lead some individuals to become terrorists
- To learn about how to frame and develop responses to prevent the recruitment of terrorists
- To learn how to frame and develop response to prevent individuals who have fought in Wars away from their home country in acting as terrorists in their home country.
