A Vashiány Napja kezdeményezés 2015-ben indult, és hazánkkal együtt mára már 25 országban vezették be, valamint több helyi és nemzetközi beteg- és szakmai szervezet is támogatja (EKHA, CROI, Global Heart Hub).

A vashiány bárkit érinthet, ennek ellenére az emberek többnyire nem észlelik időben testük jelzéseit, későn tesznek ellene vagy fordulnak orvoshoz, gyakran csak akkor, amikor már az egészségük megromlott. Ezért annak ellenére, hogy súlyos következményekkel járó globális probléma, a vashiány jelentősen alul-diagnosztizált állapot^1,2,3

A Vashiány Napja kezdeményezés célja az, hogy

- felhívja a figyelmet a vashiányra, amely világméretű probléma
- segítse a korai felimerést a vashiányra utaló jelek, tünetek ismertetésével
- fókuszba állítsa a különösen veszélyeztetett embercsoportokat
- kiemelje a megelőzés és kezelés fontosságát a vashiány okozta egészségkárosodások minimalizálása érdekében

A vashiány több, mint másfél milliárd embert érint

A vashiány nagyon gyakori, minden harmadik embert érinti a földön⁴. Európában minden harmadik menstruáló nő, négyből három várandós, és a kisgyermekek közel fele vashiányos⁵.  A vashiányból kezeletlenül kialakuló vashiányos vérszegénység pedig a fejlett iparosodott országok lakosságának 2-4%-át is érinti.

Prof. Peter Wolf, MD
Peter Wolf, MD, is Professor of Dermatology and Chair of the Department of Dermatology at the Medical University Graz, Austria. Dr. Wolf has long-standing clinical and research interests in inflammatory skin diseases including GPP. He is the principal investigator of numerous previous and ongoing clinical trials investigating novel treatment strategies in skin diseases. As an active member of the PhD programme Molecular Medicine (MOLMED) of the Medical University of Graz his translational research group addresses mechanistic issues of dermatological treatments.

Prof. Lev Pavlovsky
Dr. Lev Pavlovsky, a Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology at Tel Aviv University‘s Medical School in Israel, is the Director of the Psoriasis Treatment Service at Rabin Medical Center. With particular expertise in immunobiological treatments, he has led several international clinical trials and authored numerous scientific publications and book chapters. Dr. Pavlovsky also serves as a Councilor at the International Psoriasis Council and the National Representative in the SPIN network.
