This course has been designed both for cardiologists in training and for cardiologists in practice, to provide a high-quality and authoritative review of the following topics:- Basics of transthoracic echocardiography (including machine settings and possible pitfalls)
- Assessment of ventricular function in different disease settings
- Integrated Doppler approach to assessing hemodynamics
- The “state of the art” of transthoracic echocardiography:
– to assess myocardial function – to assess patients with heart failure – to quantify severity of valvular heart disease – to assess right heart function - The course will also cover the most important aspects of tissue Doppler imaging, three-dimensional echocardiography, contrast echocardiography, and speckle tracking echocardiography

On behalf of the Croatian Orthopaedic and Traumatology Association (COTA) and European Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and the Elbow (SECEC) it is a great pleasure and honor to invite you to the Second Shoulder International Course (SIC) which will be held in Zagreb, Croatia, on April 23-24, 2010.
The main goal of this Course is the education of young orthopaedic and traumatology surgeons from all around the Europe, with particular accent on those coming from Central and Eastern European countries. We have worked intensively and in close col¬laboration with our invited speakers, who are all leading experts in the field of surgery, to build up very interesting program with highest quality.
We strongly believe that the program will give the participants a comprehensive section of the present state of mentioned subjects by covering his¬tory taking, clinical examination, imaging, surgical techniques and postoperative rehabilitation. In addition to the program participants will be also able to watch live surgery during this Course.
