Két év telt el az utolsó nagy találkozásunk, a XXVI. Magyarországi Egészségügyi Napok óta, ennek okai közismertek. Pasteur szavai az idei konferenciánk mottója. Szabad megfogalmazásban: egy végtelenül kicsi mikroszkopikus kórokozó végtelenül nagy szerepet játszott mindenhol, felborítva a megszokott életet, hatalmas anyagi, fizikális, szellemi és mentális terhet rakott az egész világra. Ez a teher – láttuk a médiumokban, olvastuk, saját bőrünkön érzékelhetjük – emberfeletti teljesítményt sajtolt ki a világon mindenhol a gazdaságból és az egészségügyből. A pandémia mindenhol, így hazánkban is sok áldozatot követelt az egészségügyben, az ápolás-gondozás területén.

Konferenciánk sok szempontból kívánja feldolgozni az apokalipszis tanulságait.
Az előadások a tanulságok levonása mellett emléket is állítanak a járvány áldozatainak. A járvány, a különleges jogrend alatt jó néhány nagy súlyú változáson ment át az egészségügy struktúrája, jogrendszere, finanszírozása. Mindezekről szervezünk előadásokat, konzultációs lehetőséget az OKFŐ szakembereivel.
Gazda István professzor úr előadása bemutatja a trianoni évfordulóra emlékezve, annak a szomorú eseménynek az egészségügyi ellátásra gyakorolt hatását. Prof. Dr. Kovács Árpád részletesen elemzi a pandémia gazdasági hatásait, és bemutatja a jövő évi költségvetés alakulását. Előadása mintegy négy esztendő gazdasági folyamatát tekinti át.
Előadás jön a „laboratóriumunkból”, újra vendégünk lesz osztrák kollégánk.
Informatikai feladataink egyre gyűlnek, adatszolgáltatási feladataink egyre bonyolultabbak, a kibertámadások egyre többször veszélyeztetik intézményeink működését. Ezért ennek a témakörnek önálló blokkot szervezünk.

Ágazatunk egyik, talán a legfőbb problémája a humán erőforrás helyzet. Meghívjuk a társadalmi érdekvédelmi szervezeteket. A szakmapolitikai blokkban közösen elemezhetjük ezt a helyzetet.

Egy dolog biztos, hogy a pandémia miatt már semmi sem lesz olyan, mint azelőtt.

Reméljük, hogy ez a megállapítás nem lesz jellemző kollegáinkra, a szakmai baráti eszmecserékre, az egymástól tanulásra, egymás segítésére.

The Papillon Course on Thyroid Ultrasound starts in October 2021. The language of the Course is English.

This training differs from the usual ultrasound courses in several important elements:

• It seeks to cover all major topics and sub-areas in full. The 8-month course actually corresponds to a 2-semester training which requires more time from students than usual.
• The training is not based on static images, but on voice-over ultrasound videos taken during the original examinations. You will be able to go over these videos alone, accommodating your own time schedule.

The Papillon Course consists of two parts.

1. Guided by a structured curriculum, you will listen to pre-recorded lectures, illustrated by comparative tables on differential diagnostics, and you will have access to more than 800 narrated ultrasound video recordings of live patients.
2. Live, online webinars include 17 lectures given by highly recognized experts of the thyroid field. In addition to the Hungarian speakers, several international experts accepted our invitation, including Steen Bonnema, Cosimo Durante, Murat Faik Erdogan, Anrea Frasoldati, Laurence Leenhardt, Enrico Papini, Ralf Paschke, Gilles Russ, Fernando Schmidt and Philippe Vielh.

Many efforts had been made and a programme of high scientific impact was created with the support of ICAD and many colleagues from all over the world. But with early spring 2020, the first wave of SARS-CoV-2-pandemic hit Europe, and the lockdown spread. While we hoped to have the congress in 2021, other waves of the pandemic made it not happen. Nevertheless, the spirit of the World Congresses of IACD has never been lost. With the new location on the Isle of Malta and the leadership of distinguished ​colleague Joseph Pace, who chaired the inaugural IACD Malta Congress in 1999​, and his crew, the dreams ​will surely ​come true. We all hope to celebrate Cosmetic Dermatology again and continue the long line of successful and memorable events. Friendship, science, and social life will find a new start under the Mediterranean sun. It has become more important than ever that people of many different countries meet in a peaceful way to exchange ideas and experiences. Our solidarity, our love, and our prayers go to the brave people of Ukraine in their time of suffering when they were put to the test and not found wanting. We also keep in mind all those who lost their lives, most on the principle of love of their country, but many others used as cannon fodder, without knowing why they were at war.

Together with my marvellous team, we have worked hard to address the seemingly endless logistical problems that have arisen, most of which have been successfully negotiated, with us finally being in the position to make the website active this very week. We have, together with Uwe Wollina, agreed to utilise the core scientific programme prepared in such detail for the Dresden meeting ( see the invitation to Dresden speakers) for which we are most grateful. We will continue our efforts to enable our profession to recover from the adversity of the last two years and resume the personal exchange of medical advances and science, as well as the camaraderie that has been the hallmark of IACD meetings since 1999. With your active participation and support, we hope not to be found wanting! In this situation, flexibility has to be the order of the day as events unfold here, there, and everywhere.
