A Kongresszus, jelmondatának megfelelően - Quo Vadis Obesitology?
(Merre tart az elhízástudomány?) - az elhízás jelenlegi ismereteiből
kiindulva az elért és a jövő várható kutatási eredményeit, valamint a
diagnosztikus és a terápiás lehetőségeket tárgyalja meg.
Több téma széleskörű érdeklődésre tarthat számot:
- A beteg és az orvos együttműködésének új szempontjait tárgyaló magas szintű munkaértekezlet angol részvevővel.
- Az elhízás víruseredetének lehetőségéről és bizonyítékairól az Egyesült Államok neves kutatója számol be.
- Megdöbbentő új adatok várhatók az elhízás diétás kezelésére vonatkozóan is, a Nemzetközi Elhízástudományi Társaság elnökének előadásában.
- Új iránya az elhízástudománynak az élelmiszerbiztonság figyelembe vétele az elhízottak táplálkozásában, amelyről az európai hatóság elnökének vezetésével több kiváló magyar előadó foglalkozik.
- Az étrend-kiegészítők használatáról több neves külföldi és hazai előadó számol be.
- A pánerurópai DIOGENES tanulmány eredményeiről a Bulgár Elhízástudományi Társaság elnöke számol be különös tekintettel a gének szerepére a testsúlycsökkentő diéta alkalmazása során. - Az elhízással kapcsolatos nagy jelentőségű hazai genomikai vizsgálat eredményeinek első ismertetése a kongresszus keretében történik meg.
- A gyermekkori elhízásról és következményeiről több neves hazai

A kongresszus nyelve:
A kongresszus hivatalos nyelve az angol. Kérjük az absztraktokat angol nyelven beküldeni és a prezentációkat is angolul tartani.
Előadás bejelentés:
A tudományos program a fent nevezett fő témákban benyújtott szóbeli előadásokból (időtartama 10 perc), illetve poszterekből áll. Az absztraktok beküldésének határideje: 2009. július 15.
