Bone and Joint Decade International Awards 2007.
The Bone and Joint Decade is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the 2007 Bone and Joint Decade International Awards. The awards, to be announced at the 2007 Bone and Joint Decade Annual World Network Conference, will recognize exceptional efforts and programs during the year 2006 that meet the mission of the Bone & Joint Decade. The mission is to improve the health-related quality of life for people with musculoskeletal disorders worldwide.
Award Categories:
• Awareness: for exceptional achievement in a program or event for public, patient, or health professional awareness and education.
• Research Funding Relations: for exceptional achievement in working with government or other entities to increase funding for research in musculoskeletal disorders.
• Partnership: for exceptional achievement in developing an innovative program or event based on collaborations through public, private, and/or government partnerships.
• Special Achievement: awarded to an individual, group or organisation for exceptional achievement in a volunteer capacity to promote and accomplish the mission of the Bone and Joint Decade.

Nomination Process: National Action Networks, participating organisations, and members of the International Steering Committee of the Bone and Joint Decade may submit nominations. A nomination form must be submitted for each nomination. Nominees must be a member of the Bone and Joint Decade network of participating organisations or National Action Networks. Nominations must be received by 15 August 2007 The Nominating Committee, comprised of the BJD Chairman, a member of the International Steering Committee and a Network Coordinator, will make the selection based on the completed nomination forms.

Announcement: The awards will be announced during a special awards dinner of the Bone and Joint Decade Annual World Network Conference. Awardees will be notified in advance. A prize of USD $1500 will be awarded to each recipient. The awards will be publicized in appropriate Bone and Joint Decade materials and will be provided to the national organisation for national publicity.
Deadline for Nominations: Nominations must be received by 15 August 2007

IBMS Travel Grant Awards
We are pleased to offer a number of IBMS Travel Grant Awards to those who are eligible and have submitted abstracts by the deadline:

TRAVEL GRANTS

Applicants must be members of IBMS and within 3 years of attaining their highest degree. Confirmation of eligibility from Heads of Department must be provided prior to awards being made.
Travel grants are awarded anonymously by the Scientific Program Committee and Awards will be based solely on scientific merit.
Individuals who wish to be considered for a travel grant should check the appropriate box in the online abstract form and fulfill the eligibility requirements.

A csontritkulásban alkalmazott gyógyszerek egy részénél a támogatás mértéke átlagosan 20%-al, de néhány esetben még drámaibb módon csökkent.
