Idén, 2017-ben, a Semmelweis Egyetem Általános Orvostudományi Karának Orvosi Mikrobiológiai Intézete a Pasteur Tanszéki Csoporttal nyerte el a Symposium rendezési jogát. Nemzetközi részvétellel, több szekcióban megtartott tudományos előadások és poszterek a legújabb mikrobiológiai kutatási eredményeket ismertetik meg széles körben a szakemberekkel, a PhD hallgatókkal valamint a téma iránt érdeklődőkkel.
„New Challenges in Microbiology” azaz a „Mikrobiológia új kihívásai” címmel, négy szekcióban mutatjuk be az Egyetemen végzett, nemzetközileg is elismert kutatási eredményeinket, amelyeket évek óta velünk együttműködő hazai és külföldi munkacsoportok bevonásával értünk el. Ezek alapján az előadások által felölelt fő témák: multidrog rezisztens baktériumok rezisztencia mechanizmusainak megismerésére vonatkozó kutatásaink és ezek alapján új kezelési stratégiák felállítását, a molekuláris diagnosztika módszereit, a human microbiomok szerepét, valamint virológia területén előtérben lévő területeket, mint vírusok immunmoduláns hatásait és egyes újonnan felfedezett vírusok által okozott betegségek lehetséges megelőzésének és kezelésének eredményeit.
A mikrobiológia vitathatatlanul az egyik legrégebben alkalmazott tudomány. A mikrobiológia és a hozzá kapcsolódó tudományágak nagyjai – például Robert Koch, Louis Pasteur, Hőgyes Endre, Semmelweis Ignác Fülöp több mint 150 éve tett felfedezései, ezek klinikai alkalmazásai a mai napig megállják a helyüket. A technikai lehetőségek fejlődésének köszönhetően a tudásunk az emberi és a mikrobiológiai genetikáról drámaian megnőtt, ami a mikrobiológia robbanásszerű fejlődéséhez vezetett. A fertőző ágensek és a gazdaszervezet kölcsönhatásaiban a mikrobiális genomok megismerése, az immunvédekezés kijátszására kifejlesztett mechanizmusaik feltérképezése, a multidrog rezisztens kórokozók gyors elterjedése nagy kihívás elé állítja a tudományos kutatókat.
A 2017. évi Semmelweis Symposium új lendületet ad a Semmelweis Egyetemen zajló bakteriológiai és virológiai kutatásoknak, további hazai és nemzetközi együttműködések kialakításának.

We are proud to announce our Third IPNA-ESPN Junior Master Classes (Third Cycle)!
This year, it will be held in hybrid format, in Ljubljana (Slovenia) on 20-21 June 2022, before the 54th Annual Scientific Meeting of the European Society for Paediatric Nephrology.
For this Third Class, we are planning a 2-day course. ESPN and IPNA teachers will review latest updates on Hypertension, Acute Kidney Injury, Chronic Kidney Disease, Dialysis and Transplantation. Additionally, an Interactive Clinico-Pathology session is being planned.
This IPNA-ESPN educational program is especially dedicated to Pediatrics residents, Pediatricians with special interest in Pediatric Nephrology, fellows in Pediatric Nephrology and young Pediatric Nephrologists. The whole program includes three meetings in three consecutive years, the full attendance will allow the achievement of the IPNA-ESPN Master.
A certificate of attendance will be distributed after this meeting.
This course attendance is free of charge, IPNA-ESPN updated membership is mandatory.

The 2nd international conference "Food, microbiota and immunity" will take place on June 6-9, 2022 at Prague, Czech Republic. The conference is organized by the Czech Immunological Society and supported by the program "Food for the future" of the Czech Academy of Sciences. The conference venue is situated in the city center, close to the Vltava river.
This will be a small event promoting discussions, networking and transfer of knowledge to a new generation of scientists. It is intended as a friendly meeting of colleagues working in immunology, microbiology, food research and related fields.
Apart from the lectures covering several major links between the immune system, food and microbiota, you can look forward to a poster session, panel discussions and informal social events to facilitate the transfer of scientific ideas.
