Welcome message from the President of Congress
Dear Colleagues,
We welcome all of you to the 9th European Congress for Integrative Medicine from all over the world. “Future of Safety and Effective Patients Care” (ECIM) joined with the 14th Biennial International Symposium on the Bi-Digital O-Ring Test and the 32nd Annual International Symposium on Acupuncture, Electro-Therapeutics and the latest advancements in Integrated Medicine. The aim is to collect more organizations to offer you a wide palette of different types of CAM, according to your interest.
The aim of this Congress is to promote and discuss the integrated implementation of CAM into academic medicine as part of the integrative health care for the benefit of our patients. Our aim is to encourage a dialogue between academics and CAM-professionals, promoting research and implementing values into daily practices of providers. The demand for CAM modalities on site of citizen is continuously increasing and our responsibility is to investigate and apply the best practice.
More Universities now have a doctoral school for PhD studies involving younger generation for scientific research in this field. The European CAMbrella and the NATO-CAM project have just been completed with acceptable results.
The special occasion for organizing such an important event has the establishment of the TCM Confucius Institute at Pecs University in 2015 after a long period of hard work. TCM had a significant role -as a complex medical system-to improve quality of life with moving programs and dietary advice. Hungary has passad a new legislation according to CAM-law regarding this practice, together with Western and Eastern practice from these years. Hungary plays a key role in this area in Europe.
The organizer of the Congress is TCM Confucius Institute Pecs University (Health Science Faculty) together with the Hungarian Medical Acupuncture Association (since 1988) which is a member and part of the European Society of Integrative Medicine. We strongly hope for the success of this meeting in the heart of our famous Capital of Budapest, presenting all well-known and future exciting challenges to our participants.
Our principal goal is to build strong links between different types of Medicine by strengthening the Integrative aspects for the benefit of our patients.
The entire Congress is accredited with CME points.
Thank you for your interest and coming to this important meeting of researchers, interested professional bodies or simply having an interesting this topic… Let us form an international network for future success!
We hope you enjoy your time in Budapest and Pecs (post congress program)!
Congress President:
Prof. Dr. Hegyi Gabriella MD. PhD.

Why join? New data from cardiovascular outcomes trials in diabetes have shown that some newer agents have proven CV benefits (e.g. GLP-1 receptor agonists and SGLT2 inhibitors). The compelling evidence has led to significant changes in treatment paradigms as reflected by the new ADA/EASD Consensus Report on the Management of Hyperglycaemia in Type 2 Diabetes. This highly interactive and skills-based Masterclass will provide an opportunity to discuss the rationale and benefits of new clinical approaches and to share experiences with experts in the field of diabetes management.
Sessions will include: • Strategies for individualizing therapy • Applying new diabetes therapies with CV benefit in practice • Assessing cardiovascular risk • Obesity as a treatable condition • Instilling confidence in patients in using injectables • New formulations on the horizon
