Az Egészségügyi Világszervezet 2021. március 3-ig összesen 114,5 millió fertőzést, illetve 2,54 millió, a SARS-CoV-2 vírushoz (Covid-19) köthető haláleset regisztrált világszerte. A Magyarországon ismert halálesetek száma mára meghaladta a 15 000-et. Ahhoz, hogy a vakcinákra esetleg rezisztens mutáns vírusokkal nem is számolva a magyar lakosság legalább 60 százalékát aktív immunizációval védetté tegyük a fertőzéssel vagy betegséggel szemben, minimum több hónapra van szükség. 

A gyógyult betegek plazmáját felhasználó plazma-, illetve az intravénás immunoglobulin (IVIg)-terápia, amelyet nem csak klinikai vizsgálatokban lehet használni, alapvetően a passzív immunizáció elvét követi. A módszereket jóval specifikusabban és hatásosabban lehetne alkalmazni, amennyiben sikerülne azonosítani a tünetmentes fertőzés lefolyásáért felelős tényezőket.

Magyarországon a gyógyult betegek plazmájával jelenleg két konzorcium is folytat klinikai vizsgálatot. A Semmelweis Egyetem vezetésével folytatott vizsgálat során eddig 350, Covid-19 betegségben szenvedő beteget kezeltek több mint 600 egység plazmával.

A plazma- és az IVIg-terápiát ki kellene terjeszteni az orvosi gyakorlatra is.

1. Az eddig beadott plazmaegységek száma és az ijesztő halálozási adatok közötti óriási eltérés miatt

2. A jelenleg ismert terápiás hatás szerint is hatékony plazma IVIg kezelés eredményessége miatt - ezt mutatják az eddigi áttekintések

3. A donorplazma vagy a IVIg eddig kihasználatlan komplement aktivációt (és következményes citokinvihart) gátló hatása miatt

Valamennyi COVID osztály számára hasznos lehet a webináron való részvétel, hogy az eddig rendelkezésre álló bizonyítékok alapján tudják alkalmazni a plazma- és az IVIg-terápiát és ezzel minél több emberéletet lehessen megmenteni.

For its ninth edition, which will take place from 3^rd to 5^th May 2022, the Geneva Health Forum will address crucial issues for our future. Under the theme “Covid-19 Pandemic and Environmental Emergency: Reinventing Global Health in Times of Global Changes”, the GHF will help us learn the lessons from the Covid-19 crisis and better understand the impact of environmental degradation on human health.

Indeed, the Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted our fragility as societies in the face of zoonoses, diseases that appear in the animal world and that can spread to human beings. Biodiversity loss and fragile ecosystems are factors that worsen this risk. Pollution and climate change are already having an impact on our health.

One thing is clear: our health is intrinsically linked to the health of the environment and global health must be revisited in the light of these implications. A paradigm shift is needed.

The Geneva Health Forum will provide a platform to help us better understand these issues and discover initiatives that can offer possible solutions.
