Örömmel és szeretettel hívunk minden MEAT tagot, endokrinológust, a társszakmák képviselőit, érdeklődő családorvost a MEAT XXI. kongresszusára Debrecenbe. Januárban nyílik a vadonatúj Kölcsey Ferenc Kongresszusi Központ, mely rendezvényünknek is helyet ad. Nekünk debrecenieknek megtiszteltetés, hogy 2006-ban mi rendezhetjük a MEAT kongresszust. Fontos, mert egy év múlva Budapesten lesz az Európai Endokrin Kongresszus (ECE 2007), így ezt egy kicsit főpróbának is tekintjük, és fontos azért is, mert 2006-ban köszöntjük 80. születésnapján a magyar endokrinológia egyik kiemelkedő egyéniségét, Leövey András professzort.
Kérjük valamennyi tagtársunkat és a határterületek szakembereit, hogy tudományos eredményeik, tapasztalataik bemutatásával járuljanak hozzá a kongresszus sikeréhez. A helyi szervezők nevében ígérhetem, hogy a lehető legjobb körülményeket fogjuk megteremteni a színvonalas munkához. A Nagyerdő májusban zöldbe öltözik, esténként a sétálóutcává alakított Piacz utca kávéházi-éttermi teraszai benépesülnek. Kérjük, szakítsanak időt a Munkácsy-trilógia megtekintésére (a Déri Múzeum épülete a Kongresszusi Központtal szomszédos, a belépő a regisztrációs csomagban lesz), és szeretettel várunk mindenkit az esti programokra is.
