ABOUT US

The Hungarian Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (HSUOG)

This is a dedicated Society that specialises in the use of ultrasound in obstetrics and gynaecology.

The purpose and activities of the Society

1. HSUOG Advisory Board (AB) is responsible for the practical and theoretical education and examination for (1) Licence in Ultrasound diagnosis in Obstetrics and Gynecology (registered by the National Examination Board) and (2) Sonography in Obstetrics and Gynecology for sonographers (MSc curriculum registered by Széchenyi University of Győr). Teaching material in Hungarian is also provided by the Society. HSUOG Accreditation Committee is responsible for the approval and maintenance of domestic training centers for these education profiles. National congresses of HSUOG are held biannually with 600-800 participants, the events are accredited as CME. Regular practical courses are held several times a year in different locations and conferences.
   
   
2. Domestic multicenter studies, International multicenter studies (IOTA – University of Debrecen, IETA – University of Debrecen, IDEA – Semmelweis University group led by HSUOG Advisory Board members).
   
   
3. Advisory Board members take part in developing international guidelines (i.e. ESHRE Recommendation for early pregnancy terminology, ESHRE endometriosis guideline, etc.). AB members develop domestic clinical guidelines approved by the Ministry of Health. AB members sit in the Medical Research Council, Committee of Human Reproduction (Ministry of Home Affairs) and in the Medical Research Council, County of Medical Ethics (Ministry of Home Affairs). President of HSUOG is acting also as President of OB/GYN section of Medical College (Ministry of Home Affairs).
