    Call for nominations for the EFLM Working Group on Guidelines
    2017.12.21. - MLDT - Hírkategória: Általános
    Dear President and National Representative,

    Clinical practice guidelines relating to laboratory diagnostic testing are increasingly produced with the aim of standardizing practice and improving patient care based on the best available evidence.
    EFLM has a specific Working Group on this topic, the WG on Guidelines chaired by Prof. Michel Langlois.

    We are calling for nominations for 1 Full Member position for the term of office 2018-2019.

    The current terms of reference of the WG-G are:
    To maintain the repository of guidelines issued by EFLM National Societies and other Societies, not only
    laboratory practice guidelines but also the laboratory part of clinical guidelines, with the ultimate scope to
    identify fields of Laboratory Medicine where to initiate assembling joint European Guidelines produced by
    EFLM;
    To identify critical areas that will be used for the development of EFLM guidelines. This might include
    harmonisation where several guidelines on one topic had been prepared;
    To develop EFLM guidelines;
    To create a template for EFLM guidelines, including essential components for the appropriate use of
    laboratory tests.
    The term of office will be for 2 years ending on 31 December 2019. Members may be invited to
    extend the time in office by up to two further terms if their work for the Group is deemed essential at
    that time. The work is mainly conducted by e-mail and teleconferencing, the WG usually meets once
    per year.
    Procedure for applications
    Each EFLM National Society Member in good standing with the membership fee can submit one
    nomination through the attached application form. A brief plan of the applicant’s contribution to the
    aims and objectives of the relevant Working Group has to be included in the form. Together with the
    application, a short CV should also be submitted underlining the qualifications and prior experience
    and publications in the relevant area. Candidates have to be officially recommended by their
    National Society through a formal letter of support. Applicants who are not selected as full members
    may be eligible for corresponding membership.
    Nominations have to be electronically submitted to the EFLM Office: Silvia Cattaneo - e-mail:
    silvia.cattaneo@eflm.eu within the deadline of 20 February 2018.
