4th OSCAR MINKOWSKI ADVANCED POSTGRADUATE COURSE

IN CLINICAL DIABETES

Kaunas, Lithuania – 29th September - 1st October 2005

We are pleased to announce the next in this series of meetings and that we have an international galaxy of stars presenting. The EASD is keen to promote clinical observations / research / audit, etc. in all parts of Europe and in this regard we are having a new venture, that is the possibility for those attending the course to present a poster with perhaps developments in your clinic, clinical observations, changes in outcomes, etc. Potential topics would be for example "Changes in Amputation Rate in the Diabetes Clinic over the last five years", "Update on Management of Diabetes in Pregnancy", "An Audit of Diabetes Control in our Clinic over the last five years", etc.

We would therefore encourage you before 31st July 2005 to submit an abstract of no more than 200 words in English which should be in the format of Title of Abstract, All Authors, Place of Work, Address for Correspondence, Email address for corresponding author to be followed by a 200 word summary of the work you would wish to present on the attached form.  It is anticipated that most of these would be accepted for presentation as a poster at the meeting. The posters will be distributed in the hall by topic and the authors will be encouraged to stand by their posters during a specific period of time when some of the Faculty will come along and there will be a poster discussion and it is hoped in this regard that this will promote and encourage clinical research, clinical observations, audit, etc. in all European countries. We are therefore encouraging all of you to submit an abstract which doesn't need to be any more than a case report or a change of practice in your clinic or recent developments, etc.

The EASD feels strongly that this is very important as they feel strongly that we should be encouraging clinical research in all parts of Europe. Please therefore do consider submitting an abstract which will give you a chance to discuss particular areas of interest with international experts in this area.

Kind regards,
